Someone else said it better than I ever could have in the form of this poem written in response to "Ancient Fire" at the Sacred Altar Show - Cultural Arts Center, Greensboro, North Carolina

Consumed by heat,

consecrated in rage,

I am delivered

To the eternal forge,

Where I may forget once more,

These ancient wounds,

Blistering, boiling, churning,

That I might

Birth myself to wholeness.
